Can they force me?
I went to A&E last night because the clomipramine I was on (175mg) made me go totally manic. They gave me lorazepam and I went home. I didn't take my clomipramine last night and I didn't take it today. Already I feel so much more calmer and relaxed. I am a bit sleepy but at least I'm not manic and drawing all over my body, dancing up and down the stairs and constantly talking really fast.
However a psychiatrist called me today (not my one) and said I had to take 150mg clomipramine. I said no as I would go manic again. She said take 100mg and I said no. She said I had to so I lied and said ok. I'm not taking clomipramine, I'm scared of that evil drug. Can they force me to take it? It's for OCD and anxiety. I feel so peaceful atm. |
Is it possible for you to make contact with your prescribing doctor or your GP to discuss this. I tend to find those more actively involved in my care more willing to make adjustments where as others will just say you must stick with whatever has been prescribed.

The psychiatrist said mine would call me tomorrow.
I am not manic for once and nor am I chronically constipated, trembling or having really blurry vision. It's nice being off clomipramine. Let's hope it stays that way and I can get an increase in my olanzapine. |
