Sister

:sohappy:
My sister is comming to visit me :-D I am so uber happy and exicted cause sis has never come to visit before.

But...

She does not know about the SI. And she can never know.
I love my sister, but she is so nice and sweet and innocent and light. Learning about the SI wouldn't make her hate me, but it would upset her and affect our relationship negatively. Shes too much of a light and happy person to be able to understand, and we'd end up becoming distant with one an other. So I'd still loose her and there is no way I can loose sis.

Shes staying with me for a week and we're gonna do loads of things together. It being summer too I can't wrap up without a comment when we go places. Eventually I fear she will see some of my scars. And then...

What do I tell her? I could just bite the bullet and mention before she comes that I have some scars. So that maybe she won't ask how I got them... But I don't want to tell her even that. I like that she doesn't know. I like how our friendship is now.

I'm glad you've looking forward to her visiting, it's nice to have somhting to look forward to.
Is there anyway you can cover up for the week?
Would it be so bad if she did know though?
Maybe she could support you.

it sounds as if you are close with your sis, like 'inkyspider' said, she could be a good support.
If you really dont want her to know, cant you cover up & say you are just getting over a cold or something.

I really dunno but I hope it all goes well =)

I know how u feel, i have a younger sister (she's 18) and I would never ever want to tell her about my SI. Maybe one reason is cause I'm afraid she'd get an idea... you know that she would start cutting herself too... So I get it, but don't really have an advice... *hugs*

I'm glad she's visiting, as it makes you so happy :)

About telling her. One of my best friends is just like your sister. Really happy and naive (nothing bad about that though) and light, and she took it kind of hard when she found out. But it hasn't affected our relationship badly. She had a hard time accepting, but not understanding, even though she would never do such a thing herself.

What I'm trying to say is, maybe it will deepen your relationship. Especially since you're sisters and seem so close.

Anyway, even if you tell her or not, I hope you have a great week, and don't let your fear of her finding out hold you back :)

Shes not my sister by blood though. We both just have brothers so we met and after a few months we just decided that we were sisters. Much to the amusement of our parents. ^^

I'm going to try covering up for the week. I have a rather large selection of armwarmers (even 2 pairs that she has knitted for me <3) So I'll wear them.

Thing is my parents know that I SI, so I'm worried what they would say if she ever saw and asked while they were around.

btw, Angel omg love the Hugh Laurie pic /drool

I told my sister today...

And she was like, the first thing she said after I told her was

Sis is Sis tho <3

and that she was proud of me for trying to stop (i'm 3 1/2 weeks free) and that she loves me either way

:crying: <3 Sis

Being honest is usually the best way to go...it makes it so much easier. Then theres no hiding, no lying. If your as close as you say you are i can really only see her being supportive! you just have to let her be...
