citalopram side effects????

i have not long had my meds switched from mitazapine and sertaline to citalopram, and when i take them i just puke about half an hour-hour later

is this a side effect, if so will it go or do i need to go back to the doc?

I would go and see your dr, Sarah, as you may be vomiting some of the medication back up, depending on your digestive system. If they/you are wanting to keep you on the medication, your doctor may be able to prescribe you something to help with the vomiting. Natural remedies are usually peppermint and ginger to help with nausea.

The only thing I remember about taking citalopram was that it made my brain feel like it was vibrating :P

I was only on citalopram briefly to help me transition to a new medication but I never had any nausea or anything like that. Is vomiting listed as a usual side effect? It does sound like it's worth going back to the doctor about it, especially for the reasons above :) Good luck!

Go and see your doctor. Better to know what's going on :)

Ive been on citalopram a loooonggg time, I have no side effects from it.

some people experience no side effects when on it, others experience some that aren't on the packet. As above I would go and see whoever prescribed it for you about it. Some GI upset can be normal but I would check since your body might not have had time to absorb the meds, and it isn't nice. =)

it definitely didnt have time to absorb the meds, or my meds for my thyoid

I was on citalopram and recently had to change to Sertraline because of the side effects. I suffered terrible nausea, vivid nightmares, tiredness, etc. Definitely go back and see your doc x

Been on citalopram myself for 3 years, And it makes me feel sick. I think mine is probably the fact I am on the highest dose.

Myimmortalgirl 22-10-2013 04:20 PM

But yea go see your doctor coz I was on fluoxetine and that made me really ill. So it might not agree with you.
