Feeling crazy
 

Since coming off my medication (Venlafaxine) about three weeks ago I'm feeling quite unstable and like I'm going crazy. The first week off was horrible, I was miserable and definitely going through withdrawal. I'm happy to be off but I'm feeling crazy and like I'm slipping back into a depression and contemplating SI although I know that is only a spiral downward....

Why did you stop your medication? Does the prescriber know?

I would urge you to go back to your medical professional and tell them what has happened and how you are feeling. It might be that it was the wrong time to stop your medication, as your symptoms are returning. If you don't want to take Venlafaxine any more then you can ask about alternative medications.

I have been gradually decreasing the dosage for over a year. My doctor is aware that I have come off. I am planning on trying to get pregnant the beginning of next year and do not want to be on any medications so I really do not want to go back on.
