What do people thing of the hunger games? :plain:

Didn't read the book. Didn't like the film

I enjoyed the first two books a lot, the third was a bit meh for me. the film was awful though.

Never read the books but I watched the film and thought it was awful. Is it me or did nothing really happen / get achieved in it? :P

I enjoy both.

You really should. I watched the film first and then read the books. They're both great together.

I read the first book for a class and I think I managed to read them all before the movie came out. At least I know I finished the first one by then. I didn't try to figure out what it was about, I just started reading it. I assumed it might be a boring book about some poverty-ridden country, but obviously it's way different than I expected. I liked all three, but I felt the last one was rushed. I thought it should have actually been split into two books. The movie is good too I think. It's a bit long, but it's worth it to avoid cutting out so much. But I wish they would have gotten the right color cat for the movie...a black cat named buttercup?

I really enjoyed the first 2 books, i then had to read the third, which was ok...the 1st 2 books are amazing. i read them both in just under a week.

The film, is well very diffrent to the books, i feel they had missed out some very key parts in the arena.

But i don't think i have ever read a book first then been 100% happy with the film!

I like the books, was just upset about some things and for eg. thought where was just a way to add drama that was very unecessary.
Films were ok but i probably only liked them cause i was a fan of the books and i really like jennifer lawrence.

I agree, that "spoiler" was unnecessary. I actually found out by coming across a no-warning spoiler on pinterest and was upset. When I got to that part I sort of just brushed over it and tried to pretend it never happened. It's near the end, isn't it? so might as well. And how was Katniss ever supposed to accept that anyway?

I love The Hunger Games, the books are so well written and the storyline is good. I liked MockingJay because it shows how war can destroy lives and didn't like the ending that much, it was sweet but I wish it ended differently. I can't wait for Catching Fire.

I loved the first book, enjoyed the second & i was ridiculously disappointed by the third. It felt rushed and like she'd gone a step too far just to throw some suprises in there.

I watched the film but didn't think much of it either way to be honest!
