Cuts, scars & sunbeds
So, recently I've become a little obsessed with things that make me feel better about how I look on the outside. There's set things I need to do to feel even comfortable with how I look & using sunbeds is one of them... I'm just wondering if there's effects positive or negative, exposing my body to the rays when having cuts or scars? Thank you! |
The different opinions on this thread - http://www.recoveryourlife.com/forum...ad.php?t=11238 - might help you a little bit.

From what I've been told, scars become more noticeable if exposed to the sun, but each person's skin has a different reaction when it is exposed to the sun.
It's a half and half type of thing, depending on your own skin. I would try to research it |
I have a friend who is using sun beds at the moment and the other week after her first session she showed me a pic and the area around the worst scars on her arms had become very red around the outside of the scars, it was kind of freaky. There was no pain, but it did make the area very red and obvious. So if you are going for hiding scars in the summer months, I wouldnt recommend a sun bed - although everyone is different so you may be fine

I'm not sure specifically about sunbeds and if they are different to sun? But i noticed that they do get more red and pronounced in the sun, especially at first. but that after a couple of months (i was constantly in the sun cause i was travelling), they did seem to just blend in a lot more. sorry if thats not helpful, i just presume it would be the same in a sunbed.

Thank you for all the replies! Suppose I will just keep an eye as see what happens... Just pleased nobody seems to think it will be serious! Thank you all, <3
