RYL Relationships?
 

I want to know if there have been any successful or unsuccessful relationships here on RYL as i am going into one myself, so spill, how lucky have you been?

There have been several successful (and not so successful) relationships that I know of.
I've never been involved in one properly, but I've liked people on here, but nothing has ever happened with anyone! (woe!)
So any one who's looking...;)

Haha, no seriously, I think generally a lot of people seem to be happy and make it work. I think the only problem is if you want to talk about a problem you don't feel comfortable talking about with your partner, i.e if it's about them, or it's an intimate issue maybe, then you might find that difficult.

I'm living with my girlfriend from RYL. I guess you can call that a success? Who knows (I may get beaten now)

You definitely will get beaten for suggestion our relationship isn't a success. Which is ironic because me beating you would be one way of defining an unsuccessful relationship.

i had a horrible relationship with someone from here, we were together for two and a half years almost and lived together. thankfully that ended 3 years ago.

but i do think ryl relationships can work out. :-)

I'm in one and I would like to think its going well :)

Its good in a way that he knows a lot about me because there would be no nasty surprises, and it makes it a lot less awkward.

E.g having a baby and the baby being taken away because I'm mental.

Now that would have been damn awkward to have to tell someone face to face and a near guaranteed relationship killer!
So its good that he knew about it all before and still loves me despite that.

Am I even making sense?

I remember Alchemyst and whoisjohngalt dating and having kids etc, turns out they split up some time ago

Fox and Jane are still together after all htese years


It has about as much chance of success or failure as outside of RYL

Whilst I haven't met my partner on RYL we have both been members and we met in hospital [psych, naturally].

I think it can definintely work, and work well if you want it to. :)

We have been together almost 5 years too.

The possibilites are endless!

Kathryn and Peter got married. I remember when they got together... moons ago.

Time has flown by, been 6 and half years now !!

I'm going to assume you mean me and there isn't another pair of us :P

But yes me and Peter met here and it was very successful we are married and having a baby.

I think it depends on the people and if you are both in a really bad place you can be dragging each other down but it has it's benefits like knowing a lot about each other before you start. Plus if you are shy like both of us then it gives you chance to get to know someone which you might not get in person because of being so shy.
