Leaky scratches

The self harm scratches on my leg leak blood every time I try to remove the bandage - is this normal?

Are you genuinely asking if it's normal to bleed when you cut your skin?

It is entirely normal - by removing the bandage you may be removing scabs along with it, or taking away pressure that was preventing them from bleeding. Best to keep the bandage on for a while before changing it, to give the wounds more of a chance to heal without interruption.

You can also dampen the bandage with clean water in order to soften it before removal. That might help prevent further bleeding.

I know it's normal to bleed when you injure yourself, what I meant was when you're changing bandages is it normal for the wound to bleed a bit? All the other times I've injured myself the wound hasn't started bleeding like this when I take the bandage off.

Probably best to clean it, put a plaster on an try not to fiddle!
