Date food.

Hi,

Having a discussion about this in chat and thought it would be interesting to bring it here :P

I think Im going on a date next week and was choosing between whether to take the man to gourmet burger kitchen or mexican. I was saying that burger is probably one of the worst foods (after spaghetti) to eat on a date because its not at all graceful. However the mexican has it flaws too (mainly that mexican cocktails are my fav and I dont want temptation in my way :3)

So which type of food/restaurant would you choose for a first date?

I stay at home and pet my cats... except my cats are imaginary, since I am allergic to real cats...

*strokes the air*

I stay at home at pet my cat. She's a babe. But I'd say Pizza, as its relaxed and easy going, yet if you go to a posh pizza place it can be a bit classy. (as far as pizza goes) Also most people like pizza. Burgers can be messy!
I think Wagamama should be on this list ;)

Abintra 24-01-2013 01:03 AM

depending what result you are hoping for at the end of the night. nothing to bloating something lightish seafood with dessert chocolate fromage always works. well it did back in the day when i use to date.

OneForSorrow 24-01-2013 01:06 AM

And nothing smelly!!

Abintra 24-01-2013 01:10 AM

i also like cat to be on the menu :P

Abintra 24-01-2013 01:10 AM

and i agree nothing smelly

BridgesAndBalloons 24-01-2013 01:12 AM

I'd opt for chinese, not really messy/fussy/ungraceful and it's enjoyable (I quite like chinese anyway) so it'd appeal to me for those reasons.

GlitterTrashDoll 24-01-2013 01:57 AM

I opted for Pizza or Chinese.
You don't want anything smelly or messy!

griddlebone 24-01-2013 02:13 AM

Indeed!

See I think its GBK for me,but thats mostly down to location! Although now Im kind of thinking that I dont want to be super full as I want to take him to the royal observatory and the cutty sark boat and then go for drinks :3

I went for a curry on one date and it was a disaster, mostly because the food wasnt that good and plus the portions were massive D:

Now....how do I eat a burger gracefully? :D x

GlitterTrashDoll 24-01-2013 02:29 AM

Yeah if your planning to do that after, you don't want to be too full! You can always grab dessert later on at a cafe or something if you get peckish later on.

griddlebone 24-01-2013 02:45 AM

Steak is always good, but thats my 'cook for a man' meal andy :P

Ooo thats a good idea about the dessert!x

Pi.R^2 24-01-2013 02:47 AM

Umm, I would ask the person who I was taking what kind of food they like?

griddlebone 24-01-2013 02:54 AM

Hes not fussy at all,I already asked!Plus Im organising it (so he has to make an even better second date) and I dont want to give anything away.x

Pi.R^2 24-01-2013 03:14 AM

^ah right! Lucky you that he's not fussy, I'm impossible to take out on a date because I hate most foods :p

I hope it goes really well for you :)

Abintra 24-01-2013 05:24 AM

well yeah it's a good idea. i only ever have good ideas.
hmm ok there was that one time but i was really really high

Abintra 24-01-2013 05:27 AM

as a chef I'm glad to say that i've helped so many people get laid, have a wonderful evening and get engaged. i miss them days but i'm over cooking

FabulousMike 24-01-2013 10:36 AM

I voted for pizza.

squirrelspit 24-01-2013 10:53 AM

im going to hide out at the observatory and throw bits of snow at you.

If it were me, i would probably just go to a nice pub and eat pub food there.

There are tonnes of nice pubs in Greenwich.

Also, by the cutty sark theres a nandos and a frankie and bennys.

griddlebone 24-01-2013 11:26 AM

There will be no snow....ypu lose!i think gbk is better than frankie and bennys!stupid phone bad spelling.x
