shouldnt have to learn another language
so im a farm equipment mechanic i work on tractors, combines, uniloaders, i work at a dairy farm that employees a bunch of mexicans as the milking crew who only one speaks any english they also clean out the stalls using the uniloaders and if theres a problem it gets brought to me. my boss is hinting at hes getting tired of me having to call him and get him to translate for me.. i honestly dont think its my responsability to learn spanish :whistling:
am i wrong in my thinking ? |
At risk of being flamed, no i don't think its your responsibility to learn Spanish.
I know people enter the usa from Mexico to have a better life etc But it would make more sense for them to learn English since they are going to be living there. |
I agree, although learning a language (at his expense) could give you better job prospects in the future, especially if used conversationally.

If everyone is speaking Spanish no doubt your boss is hiring illegals. I have no advice but if it were me I would look into reporting him. it sounds like sooner or latter he may want someone bilingual and then it will be you hung out to dry
