Ryl Family Thread
 

Hey all :)
I'm not sure if this is something that is still around or not but its something that we used to do on this site many many years ago.
Its A ryl family. :)
the idea is to give us more of a sense of family and so we can remember that ther are people who care.
You pick random people on here and form your own little familys :) you could be someones aunt uncle pet penguin anything :) and the idea is you put it in your sig. :)
you can advertise here for new members or ask people in chat
its just something that i find is really helpful and fun :D

anyways I'll leave it all up for you guys and gals to decide if thats something youd enjoy. or if it is still going on please ignore this message and have a great day

Used to be a thing, is now not a thing.

Didn't members used to list it in their signatures?

Yeah, I think one or two of the old timers still have it..

I had mine in a list in my journal and linked to it from my signature. Most of them aren't even around on here anymore

It used to be a quite a thing I was numerous people's and had siblings was even cousin and an aunt. I don't know what happened really it just sort of went quiet, however this may start it up again, I'd love to be someone's pet penguin!

This used to happen a lot. I know a few people who were in my RYL Family but I speak to loads more people now and some of my RYL Family, like the above, aren't around anymore. I think a few people had issues with it because there were worries of cliques (moreso than the general, normal cliques you get in any social setting) and exclusion, so it kind of died a death.

A few people still have it around - why not join in some of the threads like the Chat one in here and 'create a family' that way?

I remember having a family back in the day. I had at least 3 different twins. That was fun.

I remember being "adopted" when I first joined in 2008. It was a nice way for me to make some friends and start to get involved in the community :)

i did notice that it just kinda died out and suprise adoptions was always fun it helped settle the new people in :)

The adoption thread in the Introductions was a really nice idea.

^ Maybe we could try and start it off again, see if it takes off? Might be something the community team could help with.

Didn't the RYL families merge into a humongous Squishy Squad or something like that lol?

But I don't see any of my family around here anymore, only like one or two of them.

Back in the day when I was first around, I had so many ryl family members! Don't see too many of them around much now though. How times have changed since 08!
