I could read it but it annoys me >.<
|
Yeah, I reckon it's probably 95/100 or something.
|
I'd be surprised to find someone who couldn't read it. So, yeah. :)
|
Mmmmhm.
But seriously though, incorrect spelling ain't the end of the world. |
Some people really need to realise that spelling isn't everything.

I really struggled on "sgtrane" actually. Haha its so obvious now I know though.

Its not if you can read it, it is if you can be bothered to read it.
If someone had created a proper thread with spelling like that or even worse, text speak, I would have left the page before I had even read the first line. |
Everyone should be able to read the first post's text, not for how it's written but for the fact that sort of thing has had dozens of threads a year probably :o

Oh dear. I just spent far too long typing out an extended reply with regards to prescriptivism versus descriptivism.
Then I realised nobody else cares. But correct spelling is important. There was a need for standardising the English Language in the 17th century, which is why the first ever monolingual dictionary was compiled. Had this need not existed, or indeed remained, dictionaries would have never been so important in society. |
I can't read this
We always use it as an example in psychology but I am the only person in my class who can't read it =\ I read phonetically you see cause I am weird like that katy xx |
I never use a dictionary...
|
i only recon 100% of RYLers can read it because they have practice by reading my replies and speaking to me on chat and MSN :P
|
I can understand it all :)
