Nocturnal people
Would anyone else here describe themselves as a 'night owl'? It's just gone 0500 and I'm still wide awake, knowing that everyone else in the house will be up in a few hours (expecting me to get up for lunch around 1200). I'm not sure why, but I have always preferred night to the day. Maybe it's because it's quieter and calmer, and thus fits in better with my introverted personality....

Me! I always tend to think more, be more creative, and be more daring during the night, too. And lately I've been up late at night more than usual.
|
Lately I have been a bit of a night owl too, wish I could sleep better
|
I went through a phase of it when I was younger. Now I need to sleep or I feel sick the next day and turn into an evil monster.
My other half however can easily and regularlly stays up for 30 hours or more at a time. I don't mind as the last few times he's done this I've then gotten breakfast in bed. Win. |
I consider myself an owl rather than a lark, as I find it difficult to awaken before 12pm no matter what time I went to bed. I am generally more awake in the night-time than in the morning. There is a good book on the science of sleep called "Counting Sheep' which talks in part about owls/larks.

I am totally a night owl! Its pretty much impossible for me to try and get to sleep before midnight, no matter how badly I want to.
|
I love being up at night. It's 1.51am now but so many people are trying to "bully" me into a "normal" sleepong pattern it's not funny! I'm more creative at night too. ;>) less distractions and no phone calls.

I like staying up late It's not unusual for me to be up past 5 am. Work permitting I still make sure I get my 8 hours.
|
I like to stay up late. Usually when I don't have school I stay up until about 2 or 3 (sometimes 4). And I wake up between noon and 2pm. When I do have school though I try to get to bed between 11 and 2. Still late but...I push the limits lol.
I know someone who is pretty much nocturnal though. She goes to bed between 7 and 9 in the morning and wakes up between 5 and 6 ish in the afternoon/evening. |
I normally go to sleep around 1 or 2 and wake up at 6 or 7ish. Does that make me both a night owl and a morning bird?
|
I definitely am a night owl. I function far better late afternoon/early evening.
|
I go night owl for periods. I tend to sleep in 3 or 4 hour chunks so I dont vanish 8 hours at a time. Plus with internet a night owl in NYC gets to be a day owl (or whateva) posting people down under
|
Normally I go to bed at around 1am and get up at 5.30am for work. I've been doing some night shifts recently although dont tend to sleep during the day either side of them....not sure about owl or lark.....my friends think Im a duracell battery!!

I use to be a night owl too. I changed my life and got a night shift job. but it really was not for me. every time im awake everybody is asleep and I did not hear from my friends or when they called me I was asleep so it was difficult. now I am in a day work and it sucks cause I sleep late at night. yesterday I went to bed early(12.30 am). that is early for me. I was working on metal stuff in the garage. but I have to wake up at 5am in the morning. right now Im on my desk bearly awaken. love to go to sleep.
