Christmas Shopping!!

So me and my partner have started out christmas shopping already, wanna get it done before prices go up..

Am i mad?

Anyone else started theirs?

FabulousMike 09-08-2012 08:07 PM

Oh bit early for that, I think.

But good thinking!

Morpheus 09-08-2012 08:16 PM

Yes, you are mad.

Bleeding Angel 09-08-2012 08:18 PM

Nope i started after last christmas, people might think its mad but come christmas time you will be sitting back laughing as you don't have to get into debt or rush about.

TheCrimsonSkyline 09-08-2012 08:18 PM

No, I was thinking about starting soon! Or I just end up in a panic!

Bleeding Angel 09-08-2012 08:40 PM

I really cant understand why more people dont do this, if you start early and buy things in sales or in deals then you save yourself money. Why spend full price on something when a few months before you could have got it for half the price? and also the main issue is come christmas you actually have money and over the year have saved money by not spending loads in the first place.

At the moment i have things like body shop cubes, rrp £6 sale price £1.80, Mr men mugs rrp - £8.99 sale price £1.99 lots of me to you things, rrp between £2.99-8.99 sale price £0.50 - £3.

When you look at the saving you make by doing it, people who don't are mad :P

I'm hoping to give everyone homemade gifts this Christmas, so yep, I've already started.

Field Of Paper Flowers 09-08-2012 09:30 PM

Way too early! I'm waiting until December.

Pictsie 09-08-2012 11:08 PM

WOW, I haven't even gotten passed tomorrow in forward planning Christmas just seems so far away, it'll probably creep up on me n I'll be getting the last presents and cards Christmas eve

Fruitcake 09-08-2012 11:18 PM

I sorta buy things as the year goes on. I've bought a couple of things in the summer sale for my friends bf cos i'm going to visit them just before christmas. I am hoping to do most of my holiday shop in the States when I visit, but i've put away money for that.

The Stolen One 09-08-2012 11:34 PM

What?!
So keen! And prepared!
Enjoy summer first, christmas blues and retail therapy later!

griddlebone 09-08-2012 11:39 PM

yep ive started! The most irritating thing is when people buy the thing youve bought them!x

random.swirls 10-08-2012 12:06 AM

Nope I am a mad dash around the shops on Christmas eve girl!!

Childerbeast 10-08-2012 12:53 AM

Yup! I was better at it when i had a house thus somewhere to store it. Currently im in the in laws basement so dont have the space to store stufff. I wrap and label everything ahead of time too (and make a list so i can know what i gave to people!!!)

Pi.R^2 10-08-2012 12:55 AM

Until probably this year, I have genuinely had the problem of not knowing who I'll still be friends with come Christmas time, so wouldn't know who to buy for this early :p
#BPD problems

Also, we did a secret santa in my friendship group last year, to keep costs low :)

offlineforever 10-08-2012 01:02 AM

i'm not doing xmas presents this year.

mainly as christmas isnt being celebrated in my household this year.

might do a secret santa though, it was fun lastyear. :-)

chinahorse 10-08-2012 01:03 AM

Isn't this a tad too early like, how all do people know what people will want come December? Like an age reducing, light emitting, electric green toothbrush could have been invented by then and they'd be stuck giving people socks.

GlitterTrashDoll 10-08-2012 01:13 AM

I don't have many people to buy for, so I do it around the second week of December.

There was Christmas films on the telly and Christmas Music on the other day though! Madness!

Childerbeast 10-08-2012 01:17 AM

I tend to only buy for the kids, and my parents...my parents tastes dont change that much in 6 months and the kids i dont spend a ton of money on anyway so doubtful id be able to pay for whatever the latest trend is. (Plus i pay shipping on anything i buy since i have to send it to england) Im a boring aunt that gets them useful things or stuff suited to their style ^^;

The One Who 10-08-2012 08:40 AM

I have few presents I need to buy, but if I see something through the year then I'll get it then.

A lot of people wait because they might be wanting to buy nice gift sets, which tend to only appear around Christmastime. And if they have kids then they need to wait because if they buy something in May then the child will probably have lost interest come December!
