Your favorite artists and bands?
My favorite artist would have to be owl city. All the lyrics are just so unusual but they have a meaning. The words somehow find a way to get inside me and make me feel exactly the way that Adam Young felt when he wrote them. My favorites by him are- the saltwater room, honey and the bee, and lonely lullaby.
What's your favorite artist or band? Why do u like them? |
Speaking of Owl City and unusual lyrics. I remember recently hearing some song about going to the dentist by Owl City. It was very odd.
I like lots of music and would be unable to choose even a few that are my favorites. I really enjoy the voice of Patrick Nissley of innerpartysystem. His singing voice is probably my favorite. I also like Matt Bellamy's voice (Muse) because his vocal range is simply extraordinary, Billy Joe Armstrong's (Green Day) voice has a very unique sound too. And finally Rob Swire of Pendulum, whose singing voice sounds solid to me. Of these bands, innerpartysystem is probably the least known. Also you get "Asura points" if you know the name's reference. :P [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICHjkU4YcM8"]Innerpartysyste m - What We Will Never Know - YouTube[/ame] |
No real favorite band. Often times I will play a lot of one band in a particular week. It shifts.
But I do like bands that can change over time and still retain what makes them awesome, like Green Day or Bathory. (Okay the latter was actually a solo project.) |
Absolutely is Hank Williams III. Because every album is ****ing amazing.
|
I love Nick Cave and the bad seeds. It's probably my all time favourite band. I love the lyrics and his voice.
i also enjoy classical music. I especially like the cellist Jacqueline Du Pre. Elgar's concerto in E minor played by Jacqueline Du Pre is probably my favourite piece of classical music. However, I listen to a lot of different kinds of music. |
Some of my favorite lyrics are written by The Decemberists. A lot of their songs can contain some weird narratives.

I love so much music.
Perhaps my favourite artist is Tori Amos. She's fantastic: http://youtu.be/So4WYYjeRw8 http://youtu.be/Q8tdm_CMZDw |
Girl In A Coma! This band saves my life every day!

Frank Turner and Florence and the Machine :)
Frank Turner because of his lyrics and how easy his songs are so sing along to, and Florence because of how powerful her voice is. Favourite Frank Turner lyrics: Life is about love, last minutes and lost evenings, About fire in our bellies and furtive little feelings, And the aching amplitudes that set our needles all a-flickering, And help us with remembering that the only thing that's left to do is live. In fact I think I'll put these in my sig haha. From this song: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDuT-doCKLQ"]Frank Turner - I Knew Prufrock Before He Got Famous @ Reading 2010 - YouTube[/ame] |
Wasted Penguinz, They're so amazing and no matter what mood you're in, they can change it and just make you mellow out and smile. :3 <3

Evanescence and Tokio Hotel are my favourites! edit: I guess you can gather that by my avator/siggy.
|
I like quite a lot of artist's/ bands ... some of them are, MCR, Bowling for soup, Green day, Sons of admirals, Midnight beast and All american rejects :)
|
Of all the musical phases I've been through, Evanescence is one of the names that's always stuck. I guess I'm more into Amy-Lee than the band, as it's forever changing, but I guess that makes their music so cool, the fact that there is an evolution of change within their stuff.
Plus I think she is a fascinating lyricist, and her voice is hauntingly beautiful. And then on the flip side, I love my classical music. It just calms me right down and lulls me to sleep. |
Tokio Hotel!
I also adore Motley Crue, Eminem & Lady Gaga. |
Besides Evanescnece and Tokio Hotel as I've already posted, I also love Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation, Alice Cooper, We are the Fallen, Dark New Day, Linkin Park, The Beatles, Outcast Youth, Aslan, Nightwish.
|
Oh, I recently adore Train.
