Ladies, a question

When it's that time of the month have you ever felt the urge to run a marathon, or sky dive, or bike ride like those women in the panty liner commercials?

Just curious because in my limited experience that is far from the truth.

Dammit.

The adverts should just be a woman in an old nightie and joggers with Hot Chocolate on them stains holding a hot water bottle, looking angry. With the tag line 'I have PMS and a small nuclear device. Any suggestions?'

The only thing I feel like doing at my time of the month is sit in bed on my laptop watching TV.

I try to exercise more during the lead up to my period & when I'm "on" because it can help with cramps & such. But I wouldn't say I'm that excited...

...I also never wear white miniskirts. That's just asking for disaster whether you are menstruating or not.

No matter how super-absorbent those things get, there ain't a panty-liner in the world that will absorb the world-consuming rage of a PMS-ing woman. Someone needs to invent something for that.

Pretty much this. Or a woman sobbing in the corner saying that "periods are like dementors: they suck all the joy out of you."

griddlebone 08-04-2012 01:21 AM

I dont ever want to run a marathon, even when not on my period. However saying that my period doesnt affect me at all, no cramps, mood changes or anything. its bizarre!x

Raven 08-04-2012 01:48 AM

i am best avoided on the first day of my period because i am generally psychotic.

i even have a mug. i only use it when im on. it says "im having my period and therefore can legally kill you". i think it describes me pretty well.

crazykat 08-04-2012 01:55 AM

All I want to do is curl up in bed with a hot water bottle, far from a marathon

effervescence 08-04-2012 02:22 AM

I generally want to curl up in a ball, scream, take lots of prescription drugs and stay at home in bed all day with an attractive man lying next to me rubbing my back constantly for hours on end.

Never happens though.

Gosh I can't imagine wanting to run a marathon when I'm on my period!

For the most part, I just sit on the toilet crying and try not to feel triggered by the amount of red liquid that surrounds me. Yes, I generally have very heavy periods :/

Charmed 08-04-2012 09:35 AM

We definitely need a like button! This is brilliant.

And no, curling up in bed with a hot water bottle is the way to go.

When it's my time all I want to do is eat chocolate and cry...EMONESS FOR THE WIN!

LOLJK, too cool for that **** :P

Ettie 08-04-2012 09:49 AM

Iv climbed a few mountains with mine.... but lets be honest I was forced to- sucks when you work in the big outdoors..... :) Curling up with a good book and some really good pain killers sounds good to me

Left Phalange 08-04-2012 09:59 AM

Oh god no, no physical activity whatsoever. They're not as bad now, but I used to get terrible pains. I thought I'd go for a shower once and ended up collapsing at the top of the stairs, pathetically calling out my little brother's name who didn't have a CLUE what to do, especially when I just went 'IT'S MY WOMANLY TIME. HELP ME.'

I think he's been mentally scarred ever since.

This.

I might get the odd cramp, but nothing unbearable.

Palladion 08-04-2012 10:35 AM

Oh god no, those are the last things on my mind during that time. I'm usually in bed, unable to move, screaming because of the pain. I've been known to collapse because of them before as well so running a marathon is definitely a huge no no.

Gone. 08-04-2012 10:48 AM

My recent periods have been free of cramps which has got to be awesome!

However, I am best avoided at the time of the month. I've even been sent home from work because I was/am too emotional to deal with and could barely stand for cramps and vomiting. If you don't want to see me cry, avoid me on my period!

Tea and bananas can help though. I love them and they are helpful at le time of the period.
