help! my flatmate's son has Chicken Pox
 

I had it badly when I was 6 [in the drought of '76. fun fun fun - not...]
I also had it mildly when I was 17.
Am I still at risk?
Should I isolate myself?
I've only just got over the flu myself. Damn.

Don't worry. Getting it twice is very very rare, three times would just be silly, unless you are immunocompromised.

I was told the majority of those who het it more than once, one of thevtimes it wasn't chickenpox but another of the illnesses on the same strain that for some reason has manifested in the rash. I had coldsores all down my throat, you can get chickenpox in your mouth (ulcers) the dr was trying to explain it to me.

Ps dr should be able to test you for immunity but by the time you get tests back the risk will likely be over

If he's got it chances are if your going to get it you will have already caught it and whilst it is possible to get it more than once it isnt common in fact it';s pretty rare

I keep getting itchy but of course it's psychological!

Yeah it's pretty rare to get chickenpox even more than once. You could go get tested by the doctor to know for sure next time, and if they say you are still susceptible you can get the vaccine. But I imagine you are immune as two times itself is rare to get it.
