Just Increased Medication Will My Anxiety Get Better?
 

hi. i recently decided to up my medication from 7.5ML to 10 ml of Fluoxetine after abit of a hellish month of a relapse:-( as with when i first started my fluoxetine will heightend anxiety and basicly my symptoms be amplified for a few days before it settles down and takes effect? i just like to hear some re-assuring words so i wont be panicking to much for the next few days :sad:

Um, normally moving up by yourself isn't the best idea. And fluoxetine is addictive, so moving up can make things worse in the long run because you will need to keep moving up.

Sorry for not being reassuring, but I'm a little concerned....

10ml is 40mg yeah?

Fluoxetine is not addictive by the way - not physiologically anyway. Mentally you might feel like you need it, but it's not like cocaine or heroin where your body becomes dependent on it.

As said above, is this under doctor's supervision that you have increased? If not then I think you should contact them and explain what's going on and see what they say. They may decide that fluoxetine just isn't right full stop and try something different - you can't really judge based on dose alone.
