RYL and Facebook
 

I dont really know what I want out of this thread, apart from to express a concern...

I have an RYL user adding my real life friends...Its kind of freaking me out and also weirdly I know, making me not want to talk to my real life friend because theyve added them...

I dont really know what to do about this???

Ehh.. that would make me extremely uncomfortable as well. Unless I seriously trusted the RYL person and had "known" them for a long time. But it definitely seems like you're not comfortable with it. Have you told the person not to? Have you considered de-friending or blocking them?

I have asked them why, but typically they are not responding. I actually dont really know this RYL user very well...

block them and tell your friends not to accept this persons friend request.

Block them and be more selective about who you add in future.

Have they met your real life friends?
Like, a lot of my RYL friends are friends with a few real life friends because they met at my birthday party, but if they're just randomly adding your friends, then that's a little weird =S

No my real life friend doesnt even know about ryl!! and doesnt even know this person!!!

Well it bothers me

I find anyone who doesnt know my friends adding them just because they knoiw me weird. so i can see wher you are coming from. as for someone from ryl adding your real life friends without even talking to them first that's weirder. In tyrannicide's case at least thye started talking before adding each other and then going out.

could you message asking them to keep ryl quiet, with my fb friends from ryl we have agreement not to mention the site on facebook apart from in private messages as we all have people we would rather didnt know. Something that might help seeing friends list thing is to make groups. as you can choose which groups of people on facebook see your friends list etc and you could make a group and restrict what they see for this and potentially other ryl friends if this bothers you.

Also, I'm not sure why you've posted this here? What do you think RYL will be able to do about it?

As im sure everyone is aware, we can not do anything about a persons actions outside of RYL, all i can suggest Sammi is just what everyone else has said..delete this person or make them unable to view your friend list. Tell them to stop being a dick and/or warn your real life friends.

I hope they pay attention to you.

Yeah this is very odd indeed! i've got loads of friends on bookface from here and i would never do that. Don't understand why one would do it.

I had someone do that a few years back but i knew him in RL. It did freak me out because it felt like he was stalking me. I let him know that it was not ok and when he wasn't responsive, i blocked him for a while. You can definitely hide your friends list. Go to your profile. Click on your friends list. Then click edit in the right upper part of the page. It'll give you an option on who to let view your friends list. I always put "only me". Hope that helps.
