When depression gets too much

Hi all,
Thanks for reading this and helping me.
I currently feel achingly depressed. My extremities are cold, my stomach is full of butterflies, I feel unbalanced.
Unbalanced physically and mentally. I worry I may be a danger to myself, not to my life but to myself (i hope that makes sense).
I take medication for depression and have a fantastic doctor.
Being at university and having to cope with social situations is too much for me right now. It's scary, I hear and see myself making silly mistakes.
I feel like I'm completely crap.
I am scared, upset, angry and very, very low.
I don't know what to do, where to turn.
Please, kind words or anything, help.
Thanks
xx

Hey,

I am sorry your struggling so much right now. It's an awful place to be in, however you can get through it, is there anyone you can speak to about this? A counsellor, etc Are you getting any other support apart from your GP?

Hey There,

Thanks for writing, and reaching out good for you :) I know how difficult an ask that can be when you are feeling so low.

I am sorry to hear that things aren't feeling too great at the moment. You mentioned that you have a fantastic doctor is there any possibility of booking in for an appointment in the near future to just touch base with them about what is happening for you? Brain chemistries are interesting things and sometimes they change and your medication might need to be readjusted.

I am also wondering about your being at university - have you considered connecting with the student support services and/or the disability support services available to students. I think it might be something to consider some universities have both, others are blended but basically what they can do is provide you with some short term counselling throughout your university studies and they often focus on tangible coping skill development and offer an outlet so to speak, secondly they can also assist in your coursework management so if your depression is interferring with your concentration levels they can advocate and support you to receiving extentions for assessments and extended time for exams/ tests if that is identified as your beneficial for you. Sometimes mental health issues can interfer with our abilities to complete things, and access our information knowledge base with ease and in a timely manner, its not about saying you are different than others just that you need more time to do the same thing.

I know from personal and professional experience that this is very useful and lessen some of the overwhelming feelings associated with feeling inadequate.

I hope that things start improving for you soon, if you ever need someone to talk to I am only ever a pm away. take care of yourself.
