An Idea maybe to help distract/reduce urges

Hi

I dont know if Im allowed to post this put I will anyways. Basically I was browsing online and I came across this

Although its not its specific use, It mentions it could be used as a distraction for self harm. Its like a fidget toy, where you can twist and turn the pieces. I thought it looked like a harmless idea that might be worth a try, since its only cheap. :-) Similar to a stress ball.

I am going to get the boyfriend one to help him stop smoking.

I found this on amazon but Im sure other places sell them. It might be a rubbish idea, sorry. xx

I have one of these :) Helps keeps my hands busy

It was suggested to me by a STAR worker on the ward as she noticed I fiddle with bobbles etc alot.

That's a great idea! I had one of those as a kid, and they're great for those who find keeping your hands busy is helpful.

Not a bad idea at all, please don't be sorry! I have a tangle myself, but it's a different one, "relax therapy" or something like that. It has little rubber bumps on it too, it's a really good distraction tool! I often have it on hand when I'm reading or even watching TV to give my hands something to do. I've taken it to therapy before as well. :-)

I have one but I haven't used it in a while! Might get it out again :-)

Let us know how you like it once it arrives! My only word of warning - be careful if you like snapping off the pieces, a couple pieces on mine broke that way. So now I have two separate mini-tangles ;-)

I have one of them, my mate gave it to me to help with my urges. It does make a difference :)
