Self help books for BPD
I was just wondering if anyone has found any books on BPD useful?
I have been on tablets for 10 years, had counselling, psychotherapy, and although I have moved on quite a lot, I still have numerous problems. My medication has just been changed again and I came to the realisation that I'm just going from one med to another, hoping and praying that it will change my life, but of course it doesn't. I have a very supportive partner who would be there for me if I found working through a book difficult, I was just wondering if anyone had had any experience with a useful self help book? I have asked for DBT but they don't do it in my area. A theraputic community has been mentioned but I have a husband and a son. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated :) |
The best one I've seen is "The Angry Heart" by Joseph Santoro. Though..its hard to read.

I have a DBT work book I haven't started yet, but the concept of DBT gels well with me and the workbook has a heap of examples and such. It's
The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook" by Matthew McKay. I recommend having a look through it on google books and seeing if you like it (it's a great way to preview books before buying them online!) |
