First burn- is this normal?

I am a cutter, but trying to stop and last night i burnt myself. And i was kinda wondering if anyone else has done this and whats normal to expect from it. I did two of them. They both still hurt like hell. And this weird water/fluid seemed to be coming out of them and still is. One of them is now a different colour around the outside and although neither of them really bled (not sure whether it still classes as a burn if it doesnt) on one i can see all my fleshy stuff, like a really wide cut. Im gonna post this is the self harm bit too coz i wasnt sure what this came under. Was just wondering if its normal or if its gonna get infected.
Sorry if this has triggered anyone, i really hope it hasnt. Im just worried.

^^ That's the burn guide.
You have to be incredibly careful because burns can get infected more easily than cuts.
If they are bleeding and you are growing more concerned then I would get them checked out - best to be safe than sorry, after all!

Also, I don't think that you can say what you used so can you please remove that.

I'd say what you're experiencing is pretty normal. It sounds to me like you just have surface (1st degree) burns. Whatever sort of burns they ate they need to be well cared for as they are very prone to infection which you are most likely to see in a couple-few days from now but may be later if you picked it up after you burnt yourself (or is sometimes earlier).

The best would be to use burns plasters or if you haven't got these then just using normal low/non-adherant (non-stick) dressings with antiseptic cream on there inner surface would be the best. If you use this method then change the dressings twice a day at first when they are oozing more to reduce the chance of the dressing sticking. If you're using burns plasters use them as said on the packaging, these can often remain in place for much longer periods; sometimes up to a week though if you are using these and there are signs of infection (such as redness/ increased rather than decreased pain/ swelling) then take them off and use a normal dressing as they can worsen these.

Unlike the earlier user, I would recommend you reading either the wound care guide or the burns FAQ. These are both much easier to read and understand than the burns article you were directed towards earlier which the FA Team are soon to be revising.
