temporary to permanent work
I have just got a job for a financial organisation in their call centre, it is through an agency on a temp to perm basis. The agency say they can't guarantee I will be taken on permanently after a period of 13 weeks. I feel in limbo. I would have thought that a temp. perm role meant that provided you passed your probation ok then you would be taken on permanently by the company otherwise the role would be classed as temp. Any ideas/thoughts?

When I used to work in a call centre we would get temps in for the summer and if they were good and hit targets etc, then we would keep them perm.
Hope it goes well and you enjoy it. xxx |
Perhaps they meant what Dani has said; they can't guarantee until they see if you 'pass' the probation period.
Maybe I read it wrong tho... Anyways, good luck. |
What they said! We used to do the same.

I've always read Temp to Perm as "We don't want someone permanently, but if we just get temp workers we'll never get what we want out of them. Temp workers who don't want to be temping always work harder when you tell them they might get a permanent job out of it." I hope it's not like that when you get a job like that.
