Lump behind my ear

Hey, I have a lump about the size of a pea just behind my right ear, it seemed to appear out of no where and has been there for a about three weeks now, I also seem to have a small swelling just above the same ear but that one hasnt been there as long. I know i'm probably worrying over nothing but any ideas or advice on what it could be would be greatly appreciated! Thanx! x

Your pituarity gland is situated near there so I would book an appointment with a GP to have it professionally checked out. It may be something. It may be nothing. Best to have peace of mind.

Lol. You may mean your parotid gland, which is a type of salivary gland, one in front of your ear, the other under your tongue.
As the pituitary gland is in the centre of your head, part of the brain.

The lumps described could be anything from a lymph node, a cyst, an infected hair follicle... may as well see your GP and put your mind at rest.

Hi, do you mind me asking whereabouts it is behind your ear? I have had one for over a year now, it's directly behind my earlobe, kind of where the earlobe joins the head. I also noticed a new, slightly smaller lump appear about a cm away from the first one and I've been wondering if I should see my GP, but I'm sure they're sick of seeing me all the time and I didn't want to go if it was nothing,

Hope it's OK for you x

hey, yeh sure it's in bout the same place. I would go and get it checked mate just to be on the safe side and to put your mind at rest if nothing else. I wouldnt worry about them seeing you all the time as thats what there, there for and im glad i went, though the lump for me is not the only thing there worried about as when i was there the doc noticed some yellow in the whites of my eyes n so apparently when i took some o'ds a while ago it's possible ive done some damage to my liver which could be whats causing some of my other problems now. it could be something but im praying its nothing. but im def glad i went to get checked out! x
