This is probably blatantly obvious but, I'm kind of unsure.
If I make my diary entries public, do I have to label triggering entries?

Yeah, and probably even if they're not public (mods can still see private entries, as can anyone on your buddy list).

All journals have to abide by the RYL T&Cs.

Not sure if its any use to you, but some users also use the colour system for diary entries. Works in a simlar way.
