Periods.
 

I take microgynon every day (the pill). I'm aware I should take a break every so often but I hate getting a period, and after checking with my gp, I very rarely take a break from it. So despite taking it every day without a break recently, I just started a really heavy period. Definitely not just spotting. It's lasted three days so far, I'm bleeding through my tampons, having to wear pads as well.

Is this worrying, or is it just likely my body needed to take a period and didn't care that I'm on the pill?

Is there any possibility you may be having a miscarriage? Do you have any pain?

I really hope not! I have pain on and off, just period pain I assumed? ...

i took it for a year non stop about 2 years ago and the same thing sort of happened and i came off it for a while then started again. I was curled up in pain and this point. Never gone that long on it again though! x x

If you are still bleeding heavily I would go to the doctor just to make sure it's nothing else. And then try to resume the normal pattern of pill taking.
