Music Swap

Music is a massive part of what keeps me going so I was wondering what everyone's favourite sad songs are? What do you listen to when you're feeling down?

Right now I think my favourite sad song is Mountains by Biffy Clyro...

tifflehan 04-05-2011 11:57 AM

When I'm down I try not to do sad songs, but I really love Hold On and The Motivation Proclamation by Good Charlotte. Oh and In The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death by Marilyn Manson can always make me cry. Such sad words.

My current favourite sad song is Vienna Teng - Gravity. I don't think it's really about SH but it could be.

Antebellum 04-05-2011 11:33 PM

My favourite song at the moment is 'The Story - Brandi Carlile' but my favorite version is the one sung by Sara Ramirez. (I loved the musical episode of Greys Anatomy... that song sent chills down my spine!)

It's not really a 'sad' song but when I'm down it lifts me up.

I don't think it was written about self harm either but it fits me very well and I know its about Triumph. (In my opinion!)

When I'm flat I tend to listen to the same song on repeat.

Gone. 27-06-2011 10:28 AM

When I'm down I try to listen to upbeat music but songs like "How to Save a Life - The Fray" can get me emotional. Also, "There's a Place for us - Carrie Underwood" and "The Call - Regina Spektor"... just because I love those songs immensely.

I really dont agree with listening to depressing sad songs when depressed.

I find it appauling there is a commercialised market that specifically plays to the delicacy of the depressed by producing emo ***** to go and slit your wrists to!

luke have you never shed an emo tear~?

I love the Homestuck soundtracks. They're amazing if you like more quirky musics.

I like listening to depressing music when down, it makes me have a good cry usually which clears me out.

Recently been listening to a lot of Hinder, fave song at the moment by them is either Running In The Rain or Bliss (I Don't Wanna Know)

Mandimoo 22-07-2011 09:51 AM

i listen to amanda falk, i know i keep saying it... but she's amazing. http://www.youtube.com/user/phantomo.../1/lr9PXX1dkN4

I love Linkin Park, Fort Minor and Dead By Sunrise.

Some of the songs seem to know exactly how I'm feeling sometimes, others make me feel empowered, like I can kick anybody's arse!! lol

staceyrawrcakes 11-08-2011 10:37 AM

Depends. If it's something depressing usually Landmines and Landslides by Less Than Jake. If I want to be put in a better mood I just listen to a whole Reel Big Fish album. Usually happy again by the end of that :)

I don't get why this thread goes from songs that you listen to when you're down (and I interpreted the thread starters 'sad song' as what she listens to when she's down (though I don't personally know the song)) to people then saying whether or not it's got to do with SH and saying when they're down they listen to x but y is a sad song.

The songs I listen to change. There are a few that spring to mind. The one in my sig is still pretty much 1 of my faves as I find it helps me to just get on with things. But then there's a few others and it depends on the day and really they tend to pretty much be my fave songs anyway

tifflehan 22-08-2011 01:55 PM

This song was suggested to me by a great friend. LOVE IT!!!
