Why hate us so?

id say around 80% of the time i've been to the theatre the actors have been caught up in their own little world. they seem to perform for themselves rather than remember their job is to convey something and that they themselves arent important.
also they are ten a penny which means real talent gets drowned in a sea of desperate wannabes with a deluded idea of their own potential.

Of curse they're important. Without an actor doing all the hard work to develop, create and present a character there would be little point to theatre.

sorry, to clarify i meant it more along the terms of 'look at me acting and being all dramatic!' when you can tell the person is more caught up with the fact they have the part than actualy doing a good job. i cant act myself, but i can tell if someones bad :P

but they arent important, they are just an actor. the story and message is more important.
