Things we love about life
Something that's always helped me recover is to step back and appreciate the little things in life. So I thought I might start a thread listing the little moments in life that we love. It doesn't matter if it's a big moment, either, and the moment can be as simple as you want. It really doesn't matter, just whatever tickles your fancy.
I'll start. I love catching dripping ice cream on my tongue when I'm eating an ice cream cone on a hot summer day. |
I like the idea :)
I've been trying to make a list of a hundred things that I love for awhile now. My favourites so far are : Seeing airplane shadows Cuddling a stuffed animal in a nest of blankets When something really small completely makes my day Listening to a song that perfectly fits my mood Covering my ears and listening to the water hit my head in the shower and...getting hiccups! |
The way the air smells after it rains in the summer.
Candles in dark rooms. The feeling you get in your tummy when you're excited for something. |
The crisp mornings in autumn, when the air is cold and just a little bit moist, you can see your breath, the sky is clear and you can smell the wet grass and the leaves on the ground.
|
This is a really nice idea for a thread.
I think about this a lot, appreciating the little things Being able to feel the wind in my face and walk outside and have it hit me and wake me up Being able to afford glasses/being born in an era where glasses are widely available. (I don't move out of bed in the morning without first putting my glasses on!) Being able to make [spontaneous] plans about going to a friends now I am away at Uni without worrying and actually following through with them. Feel less isolated Having access to music & being able to hear it There's so many more, can't think right now I'll probably be revisiting this thread :) |
I love the smell of rain.
I love rainbows. I love talking to my bestfriend for hours. I love the quite of my house when my mom goes to work during the summer. |
The smell of rain.
The smell of books, especially old books. Sitting down with a good book and a cup of coffee or tea. Kittens. Riding a bike. Candy. Being naked. Dancing naked. Singing badly. Swimming in the Ocean. Meditating. Doing Yoga. Having beers with my best friend while we engage in stimulating conversation. Cuddling. Random acts of kindness. Random conversations with the homeless. Being spontaneous. Laughing hysterically. Playing childishly. Touching my mom's fuzzy cheeks. Being tickled on the neck by Lanita (my dwarf Russian hamster). Talking to HER. Making silly conversation with HER. Daydreaming. Wondering the woods. Hiking. Camping. Swimming naked or being topless on the beach. Sleeping soundly without a care. Rhyming. Walking aimlessly. Bumming about. Learning. Learning a new language and using it. Drawing. Water fights! Running. Making out. Long-lasting hugs. Pushing people's buttons. Pushing boundaries. ... |
Tramping.
Gypsy music. Buddhism. Paganism. Tigers. Flamenco. Music. ...gods, I can go on and on... |
doing the time warp in my bedroom at 4am. :3
|
Oh, I've got another one:
I absolutely love it when I wake up in the morning, the early sun is shining through the windows, my bed is all comfy and warm and I just snuggle into my sheets and know that I don't have to get up! |
My friends laughter. I love seeing the people i love happy. :)

watching the waves crash down on the beach
watching the tumbling waters of waterfalls |
I love the feeling I get whenever I hold one of my new baby siblings- total love.
I love when you see a baby open his eyes for the first time and look at you. I love the way my heart feels like it's melting. Same thing when they yawn, smile, giggle, etc. It's soooo adorable, and I fall helplessly in love, unable to get back up. I love the giddy butterfly feeling I get when I develope a crush on someone, but I love getting that giddy butterfly feeling even after we've been dating for a long time. I love everything about the first day of school. I love how excited I get to see my siblings getting excited. I love how new everything is- new year, new students, new teachers, new material to learn, and those fresh new pink erasers. |
I love the feeling you get when you can smell spring in the air for the first time.
I love antiques and the stories they hold. Collecting treasures. The feeling I get when someone trusts me. When they have everything to lose and they choose to have faith in me. Hugs. =) |
painting things... being in the sea... sunsets through trees...
|
When it dark and raining and I'm inside and the rain on the window is orange because of the street lights, one of the things I love most.
Clean laundry smell is another love of mine. |
Getting an early night so I wake up feeling refreshed for an early morning start and actually really get to appreciate how beautiful that time of day is: sunrise, birdsong and all.
Paddling in the rockpools at the beach after a long run. Taking off my shoes and running through the field even though I know I'm late for work. Duvet days when it rains, looking it the window to see storms over the sea and the way the wind and rain hammer at the back windows and doors. Cuddles with sleepy babies. The really intense look that ____ gets on his face when he looks at me which terrifies me and gives me butterflies at the same time. The Scandinavian 50s style ice cream parlor that my Norwegian friend introduced me to; biggest waffles in Brighton and best coffee ice cream I've ever eaten? Yes please. Olives. |
Cuddles with my kitty.
Babies laughing. Cuddles with babies as they are fighting to stay awake. |
The way my mam smells.
|
Doggy eyes and blue kool aid.
Poetry and jungle gyms. Being able to act like a kid now and then. Ostriches =p |
