Comedians

Okay so I'm a big fan of stand up comedy and as such I'm slightly running out of stand up comedians to watch :tongue2:

I wondered if anyone had any suggestions? My favourite comedians are people like Russell Howard, Peter Kay, Dara O'Brien so anyone with a similar sort of style would be great.

Do you have a comedy club near you? Can't beat the atmosphere really. Some of the comedians are a bit rubbish, but you can get some really good ones.

I agree with the comedy club idea...ive been before and its usually a good laugh as there's so many good comedians around who dont get the media attention. Comedians I like are Tim Minchin, Simon Amstell, Andi Osho, Sarah Millican, Daniel Sloss, Lee Mack and there's probably others that i cant think of :tongue2:

Michael McIntyre :) that's all I can say and it is a pointless post since people have said him already but I wanted to express my love for the man.

I've already watched Michael McIntyre-love him :)

I have been to a comedy club in Manchester and I do agree about the atmosphere, however I'm more meaning when I'm bored at home and want something to watch.

I go through phases of different kinds of comedy/comedians, but my favourite right now is David Mitchell.
I love him!

Too Shy 04-04-2011 05:52 PM

Jason Manford's quite funny if you haven't watched him already! :)

I like the Lee Evans XL tour.

And I love Frankie Boyle as well. But not watched the DVD of his tour yet.

And if you like Dara then you might like Ed Byrne too.

Mrs Bungle 06-04-2011 03:17 AM

^ Yep, I agree. I can definitely reccommend Ed Byrne's first dvd. I've not seen A Different Class, but the live show was great so I assume that's good too.

You'll probably like Rich Hall if you like dry wit. Again, Dylan Moran's great for dry wit

Lee Evans is far too sweaty for me! Maybe I'd find him funnier if I had my face pointing away from the TV.

Asura 06-04-2011 05:45 PM

Dane Cook is an incredibly underrated comedian.

Rodolphus 06-04-2011 05:46 PM

Ed Byrne. I love him so much.
Rhod Gilbert.
Victoria Wood. (Oldie, but never fails)
Jack Whitehall.

I can't think of any more right now >.<

Trying to go for a few not yet mentioned

Justin Moorhouse - half way between Peter Kay and Jason Manford, very Northern and very funny.

Craig Campbell - absolutely hilarious Canadian comic, a bit crude but definitely not Frankie Boyle crude. Look out for the set where he starts off by saying 'how do you clear 100 Canadians out of a swimming pool???'...'Could you please get out of the pool!!!' - my husband is Canadian and finds this hilarious!

Peter Kay
Lee Evan- is amazing!
Michael McIntyre- god, i just love him lol
