Ive been told i SI in more than one way ...
my friend noted that i pull my hair out ( single strands here and there on my head and the air on my arms and eyebrows i didnt realise this could be seen as SI sometimes i dont realise i do it is it worth mentioning to my doctor?
|
yes, it is absolutely worth mentioning. its not that uncommon, just people don't tend to think of it. compulsively pulling out hair is called trichotillomania.
|
oh right thanks...
the top of my arms i scratch and pick at but the doctor knows about that .. its compulsion or something but he hasnt told me if thats a condioton but thank you |
Agree with the above :)
The odd hair on your hair is fine, you know, sometimes they grow in an awkward way, but purposely pulling them out for other reasons, is not good. x EDIT: Scratching and picking at your skin is a condition and can be also classed as SH, I do this. It's called dermatillomania, it can be VERY addictive... |
thanks for the info , i scratch alot at my arms and i dont normally wear vest tops because of it
ive tried to stop so the skin heals as i want to work on my tattoos sleeves but its really hard :/ |
I agree with what has already been said. Also wanted to send hugs.
