I don't know what this is... dissociation?
When I'm particularly anxious, nervous or low, I feel like there's a pane of glass in front of my face. I drift in and out of my daydreams and sometimes feel like I'm floating (almost in a relaxing way). Other times, I find that however much I want to speak and however much I could speak, I can't bring myself to speak. It's not often I get all these feelings at once, and it only really happens when I'm in public situations, like in a classroom.
Does this sound like it could be a form of disassociation? It's not like I become completely detached from what's going on, but I definitely feel a little bit 'spacey'. I also go into daydreams often. I'll be staring into space and someone will come and ask me if I'm ok, and I have no clue I'm doing it really. |
I've been on fluoxetine 20mg a day since january 2010. I suppose it could be a side effect.

I am not sure if it's a side-effect (I left my book at home and I'm not at home), but it could be a reaction to stress

Can you tell us some more about the anxiety?

But I also have low self confidence and am not a particularly 'social' person. Well, I am when I want to be, but it takes me along time to trust people and because I've recently lost all my friends because of my illness (long long long looooong story) I tend to get anxious and angry when I see them, or when I'm forced into uncomfortable social situations. I also get extremely anxious if I'm going into an unknown situation. I hope that helped a little bit. |
