Seroquel side effect??

Been on it quite awhile, varying doses.
Was working well but i've noticed something odd lately with it; it is causing paranoia and mild psychosis symptoms.
Anyone else experienced this??
(Will be seeing my doc on Mon. and switching to a different med but was just curious, as never heard of anyone else having this...)
thx

While I was on Seroquel I actually did have a bit of paranoia as a side effect. I became quite fearful of my treatment team, thinking that they were trying to poison me and such. I also haven't heard of anybody with this side effect, but it definitely can mess with your mind. Glad you are getting your meds changed to something that hopefully helps you.

Thx Jess.
Sorry you had it too, but glad its not just me, if you get what i mean.
Yes, it is rather...disturbing, especially since all that crap had been 'under control' it seemed.
It gets kind of scary, all these meds and their effects...

Yeah, I was glad to know I wasn't alone either. I always seem to get the crap side effects on the meds I'm on. Luckily right now things are pretty stable...finally. I wish you the best luck finding the right meds!

Thx again.
Usually i dont get any side effects, or they are very minor, if I do.
Except for effexor...what an evil drug.
I'm going to ask to be put back one I had in the past...my (then) doc just pulled me off it (and everything else)and said he wanted to see how I was unmedicated :/...was rather a disaster.

I didnt have this when I was on Seroquel. I just wanted to say Effexor=HORRIBLE HORRIBLE drug uuuuurrrgggghhhh!!!! I hope Monday goes ok xxx

Thx, Emma.
I don't think it can be said enough how horrid that drug is. The WD's from that were hell...evil, evil med...
I don't think I know of anyone who has been helped by it, now I think of it.
Mon. should go well, he is really good about listening to what I want to try and explaining why he doesn't agree, rather than just saying, "take this".
I will miss the seroquel at night tho, it has been excellent for sleep for me.

Oddly this has reminded of a book I just finished, but it's about Prozac.
It's really quite good...but disturbing because it gets into all Eli-Lilly withheld about the results from its trials...
Is called "The Power to Harm" by John Cornwell (Viking Press).

I have heard of this happening. I don't think it happened to me when I was on it, as I had paranoia far before I took it. But it does sound familiar. Hope you get on a med more suited to you.

I'm still on seroquel, i do kinda go into phases of believing people are not 100% behind me getting better, but whether it's a side effect or not, well i guess i'm just not sure.

Anybody find that you have put on weight coz of it, or perhaps finding it hard to lose weight?
