I Dont Know What To Do.

I have really noticeable scars on my legs from cutting.
And I still cut, so I keep adding, and eventually they turn into scars.

Well my boyfriend knows I "used" to cut, but he doesnt know I still do.

And, I just want to know what im suppose to do if he notices all the scars on my legs?

I mean I think there pretty big and noticeable, so I dont know what he would think if he saw them?

Im like afraid to let him see my body because of it.
Thats why if he ever does, its always with the lights off, and I try to cover my legs with the covers, to hide them.
If not, I just try to put my hands over my thighs.

And on top of that, should I tell him I still do it?
Like he has his own problems, and thats why im not telling him about this.
He has a lot to focus on, and I dont want him worrying about my problems.
Plus I dont want him to tell my parents, and I dont what his reaction would be?
Hmm

Sweetie I know how hard this must be for you. But I do think that it's best to be honest in a relationship and you probably will have to tell him, he will no doubt notice at some point, so it's best to tell him yourself I think. I know how you're feeling because my boyfriend currently thinks I haven't SIed in a month, but I've come to the decision that when I next see him I am going to tell him the truth, as you need honesty in a relationship.

I know that it'll be extremely difficult for you, but I think it'd be the right choice to do so. He's your boyfriend and I'm sure he cares about you a great deal so would want you to be able to talk to him about what's going on with you. And if you asked him he might not tell your parents.

Also, are you getting any professional help with any of this??

If you're feeling like you're lying to him and hes going to find out, you're probably better off telling him. And while you can't know exactly how hes going to respond, its likely that even if it shocks him a bit at first, hes really going to want to help you.

You can explain that you don't want him to tell your parents because that sort of news should come from you, as it would make it easier for all of you.

Before you tell him you can print up some resources, or have a website ready that he can look at to get more informed. On here, if you go to advice, then self harm, theres a page for parents and friends that you could use. Make sure that you're willing to answer his questions, if theres ones you're uncomfortable with you can say that, but you have to be ready to explain the main parts.
