Anyone want to be in a documentary? *now with permission*
 

I asked this a week or two ago but now I have permission from the mods to post it.

Anyway, I'm making a documentary on self-harm for my Master's degree. It's going to be general facts, dispelling myths and video/audio (preferably video) "interviews" with people who do or have self-harmed. The first bit will be people (you theoterically) talking about experiences with self harm, why/how they do it, contributing factors, etc. The second part will be the interviewee saying things they want people to know about self-harm and self-harmers, the general public and pasticularly mental health/medical professionals. (The main audience will be social workers). If I get a lot of people who want to be in it, I might make some extra parts for people to take turns explaining myths.

I am trying to depict a diverse population of people who self-harm from around the world, with a wide array of races, genders, sexualities and ages. However, at the moment I have a VERY small age bracket (18-24) of people so far, and only 2 male volunteers, and almost all white/caucasian. So I'ld like people who are in a diff age bracket, races, and maybe more guys.

If interested please PM me for more information. You will also have to sign an IRC (International Review Board) consent form, basically saying you consent to it and that you can pull out at any time.

PLEASE NOTE: If you want to do this and you are under 18 you will need parental consent. If you are not comfortable with your parents knowing about your self-harm and things involved I suggest you don't volunteer. Thanks.

I'd be willing to do it, I do however fall into your age range- I'm 21- and am white. But I would be willing to participate.

Also, I forgot to mention I'm very opened to artwork/photography to be on the screen when I'm doing a voiceover of general facts. It's much easier and safer to get direct permission from people than google things and possibly get in trouble.

There are some words I'm trying to get pics for as I say them. (I have deviantart ones but again, permission is best.) I need pics that represent child abuse, sexuality confusion, drug/alcohol addiction, inability to cope with negative emotions, rape/sexual assault, eating disorders, cutting, burning, bruising, bone-breaking, hair pulling/trich, headbanging, and "other dangerous behaviors". Otherwise, general artwork/photos are great. Thanks!

No no, I'm saying I have too many people in the 18-24 age bracket, and want people outside of that. But right now I'm still filling the list up fast, so yea.
