supported living

Hey,

I have had to spend some time in supported living lately as my mum doesnt want me in the house anymore. The thing is is i hate it. I hate being 'supported' to cook my meals and 'supported' to go out for a walk. I want to just do my own thing. I'm goiing back there tomorrow for a week and i really cant face it, but it's either that or live with my mother who will be majorly pissed off if i dont go.

does anyone have any advice on how to cope with supported living. I hate having to get up at a set time, have someone help me prepare my meals, having to spend time in the communal areas.

so yeah, any advice greatly appreciated,

That's weird. Because I've been living in supported accommodation for over a year now and the carers pretty much leave me to my own devices except for chatting to me every evening about how I'm doing and what I did during the day. What scheme are you under?

Do the carers live onsite? Because here they don't. I could sleep all day or go out all day or stay in my room all day and nobody would give much of a damn.

they have carers and support workers that work on a shift basis but someone is there all the time.

Can you talk to the staff about having more freedom? My supported housing is the same as Oly's, in that we are pretty much allowed to just do what we want. It's hard when you're an adult to be so restricted in your own home as it sounds like you are at the moment.
