finally got around to actually reading my discharge papers from the psych ward. axis I was major depression.....no surprise there. axis II is mixed personality disorder. if that is true it explains a lot...... i just wish they had been more specific, such as what personality disorders and the percentage of the mix.

was this your first time being diagnosed? it can take years for them to get it right. at least in my experience. the best thing to do is research the diagnosis. NAMI is an excellent website.

To be honest, most personality difficulty presentations are mixed, as really things aren't such discrete boxes/divisions.
I understand wanting to know, though. My ex psych informally told me that I have 'depression and anxiety and panic attacks and other problems due to things that happened to you in your past'. Other problems, huh?! |
