I feel Numb
I don't know if I am overreacting or what but over the past few weeks I've been feeling numb. I don't really know how to describe it but it's just I can't seem to 'feel' anything, I mean I can psyhically, like I know I'm touching something but if someone touches me I don't 'feel' it properly. I know this sounds awful but the only thing that I seem to feel properly is pain.
Does anyone know what's wrong with me? |
Cally, if you are feeling down at the moment, then this may happen, you may feel empty or numb. As I've already said though, I would go and talk to your doctor hunni, or if you can't do that, can you confide in any friends or family?

Thanks Hollz. Erm I don't know only two of my friends know about any of my 'issues', one self harms aswell so she would be the most understanding but I don't want to worry her with my own problems as she has enough crap in her life already. I don't know what to do.

Just talk to people hun, it will help and I know you aint sure about seeing a GP because of your age, but what about maybe a guidance teacher or something? When I was in school, my guidance teacher was my absolute rock.

You said that you are 13? Why don't you ring childline they will be able to support you. x
|
Whats been said before, please go to your doctor.
|
AArgh I know I should see a doctor but I am just so shy. Will talk to my friend, maybe a school counsellor I'm not sure if you can just go and see them though..
|
With the school counsellor, your best bet is to go and see them and explain that you would like to make an appointment to speak to them properly. You can give them a brief run down, or print out of this page if that helps.
It is also a good idea to make an appointment with your gp. I know that is scary, but you can do the same thing and take along any notes or print outs that may help should you find it hard to talk. Childline is good for phoning, but you can also write to their address and they are pretty good at writing back (albeit slower than a phone call). The most important thing is to know you are not alone in this. It is a good thing you have started this thread, for example. As it means you recognise that there is a need for support there and have begun to reach out for it. You can get through this, so hang in there and keep talking to us. It is what we are here for. I would just go and say to my guidance teacher, ask if I could speak to them, she made an appt and took it from there.
