pretty damn cool tbh i agree. And yes amy is very cute. However i was rather pissed off at the last bit of the after episode previews. The doctor never uses guns. Ever. damn you bbc! *shakes fist*

Palladion 03-04-2010 09:00 PM

I like Matt Smith not nearly as good as David Tennant but he's alright. I don't really like the new tardis or the new opening credits all cloudy and no. But it was pretty good and I can' wait for the weeping angels to come back :D eep i'm excited already.

Oh and was that James Corden I saw in the preview thing at the end? If it was omg I can't wait for that, but i'm usually pretty rubbish at recognising people off the TV lol

Piper 03-04-2010 09:33 PM

I agree he is juat not David. But she makes up for it, well almost. and I am pretty sure that was James Corden XD

I noticed this too! Maybe there will be a reason which will become apparent when we watch the episode!

I enjoyed it. But am treating it seperately from Tennant. Like a different show. I like it!

Yeeeeeah James Corden!!

I like the new Dr. I know he's not David Tenant but I think he is going to come into his own after time. There is nothing I dislike about him so I'm sure we will all grow to love him :yeah:

I didn't get into Dr. Who until the last series so I don't have the same attachment to David Tenant as most people lol

Sunshine 03-04-2010 10:34 PM

i loved it! amy is soo pretty!
i think i prefer david tennant but i will get used to this doctor! the series looks like its going to be great! :-D

ceiron 03-04-2010 10:45 PM

Umm didnt he use one in the xmas episodes, he might not have shot anyone but he still used a gun none the less. Tbh you dont know what hes shooting at, im guessing its like the xmas one.

I didnt think alot of it tbh, it didnt grab me or make me think wow what a good story. But im glad that for once it wasnt based in london.

frenchhorn 03-04-2010 11:39 PM

I liked it, thought Matt Smith was very good, still prefer David Tennant, but then we have only seen one episode of Matt Smith, think it will take a while to get used to him being the Dr and we were used to Tennant.
I really didn't like what they have done to the theme music, they tried to make it new and modern and it really didn't work, plus wasn't a fan of the new opening titles, but overall thought it was good.

Athiri 04-04-2010 04:23 AM

I felt that the 11th Doctor is fantastic on paper, I just don't think Matt Smith's quite right. It feels a bit too much, well, like he's acting. Not quite natural.
But I guess it's early days yet. He'll probably improve with time, and I may yet grow to like him.

Hate hate hate the new title sequence and theme music. Urgh.
BUT I'm loving the new TARDIS! So retro, it's bloody awesome! ^_^
I hope they show a few more rooms this time round too. I swear the only other room we've seen since the new series started is the wardrobe!
And bring back the milk/water vending machine! :P

happywondering 04-04-2010 08:13 AM

It was awesome. I will explain why in detail later.

The One Who 04-04-2010 04:58 PM

First off, I'm not a huge fan of the titles and found the names quite hard to read in that font. That may well just be me though. I didn't like that the Tardis just seemed to be being shoved around, but I guess that does sort of fit in with the actual way the Tardis is like since it never really ends up where it's supposed to be or when.

Matt Smith I felt was a bit too much like David Tennant for my liking. Be different and it'll be fine. It's not easy to follow on from someone as popular as DT, so take it a completely different direction rather than trying to be the same.

I really, really like Stephen Moffat but that episode wasn't him at his best, perhaps obviously because he needed to introduce everyone. I think he'll get better in his later ones.

Puppet Strings 04-04-2010 05:20 PM

Ah, Doctor Who. <3
I'm too cool.

I loved it, really did.
I think Matt Smith's amazing as the Doctor, and is going to be amazing.
The new TARDIS really excites me, and I hope hope hope that we get to see some of these different levels, rooms, etc. It just seems so rich and that a lot of thought has been put into it, which is goood.

I have to say though, the titles bit and the beginning really felt wrong.
It's not like they've just made a new theme tune or anything, but they've taken a perfectly good one and made it worse! I really don't like the visuals on it either, the weird clouds & lightning. Maybe it'll grow on me, I hope so, but it was the only thing that really jarred for me and made me want the old stuff back!

Other than that, I'm really up for this new series, all the changes it brings. I think we're in for a good one.

I loved it.
Matt Smiths Doctor is great, I love him! I loved the sequence at the start where Amelia was cooking for him. The opening credits are a bit weird but I think I'm coming round to them.
The new tardis looks great, much more fairytale than it was before, and given that "Dark fairytale" is what the new team are going for, job well done.
I am so excited about this series, the writing, direction and acting are clearly far superior than previously.
There were definite moments where you were reminded it was a childrens programme but it was also quite grown up and scary (Hello TEETH O_O)
Also love that Moffat refuses to talk down to children, this clearly makes for much better watching.

I can't help but getting mad when people say "Oh Matt Smith, he's no David Tennant" No, he's not. THAT'S THE ****ING POINT.
He is his own doctor and I have no doubt he will be a great, possibly even better, Matt Smith really is a great, great actor and I think as young as he looks he definitely portrays The Doctor as an old man very well.

This episode only made me more excited which I didn't think was possible, ha!

ChocolateMarvel 05-04-2010 12:08 AM

I really enjoyed the new Doctor Who....Matt Smith seemed really good. I loved David Tennant but Matt Smith seems good. I didn't really like Christopher Ecclestone but I feel that both David and Matt are quite quirky which I like. I liked Amy Pond too, she seems like a good character and I will be intrigued to watch the Doctor and Amy's partnership develop and I will be interested to see what is going on with the whole wedding thing!!!!!

actually love you right now fi.
everything you have written i agree with.

also, with the "he's not david tennant" thing.
this is true, but then, neither were the other 9 men that played the doctor before he did.
David tennant was awesome, but the doctor has to change.
IT'S THE REASON THE SHOW HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR SO MANY YEARS.

best quote of the episode "you're scottish, fry something"

offlineforever 05-04-2010 01:14 AM

God I loved it, I wasn't sure if i was gonna use this series for my dissertation next year, but I so am!

The only thing that annoyed me was the graphics were a bit dodgey, thats personal opinion though!

griddlebone 05-04-2010 01:30 AM
