Schizoaffective - A change of diagnosis

When i was in hospital last year (January) they wrote on y discharge sheet that i have schizoaffective but because i didnt even see a doctor which in itself was rediculous I thought maybe it was an error and theyd wrote te wrong thing by mistake. But, ive just seen my nurse and she said shed just lookd at the form and told me it isnt mistake and that my diagnosis has been changed!

Seriously though its been longer than a year!

Anyway im quite happy about it because I was aways quie unsure of the 'paranoid schiz' that was my diagnosis. It does suit more now shes explained it.

Its strange actually casue ive noticed there have been a few people who have had a schizophrenia diagnoss changed lately. Must be somethng in the air!

Feels a bit strange but yeh, its okay =)

Yeh! Lol, and its strange though how they can chng a diagnosis without seeing a doctor at all! ......... what a load of **** that hospital is!

And it doenst bother me becasue it doesnt change who i am, my meds arent changing, my treatment isnt changing, even my symptoms havnt changed, it is just the label that has changed.

Lables are crap ,I have been written about as being both bi polar and schziophrenic ,though nobody had the guts to say to my face what I really am.I wouldnt worry what they say ,its what you are inside what matters.nd meds are ususally used for the same things anyway.

if a doctor looked at your nursing notes though it's not as stupid as you might think that they changed the diagnosis.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I'm glad you're not letting the change in diagnosis get to you. xox
