friends and support

In real life I have a friend who's been trying to help. He's been pretty good, but recently he's been irratating me.
Some of the things he's been saying seem unreasonable and I just disagree with what he's saying. However I try and voice my side of the story and I can't explain properly.
I work with him, he's my friend and one of the only people who knows whats happened.
I know I've relied on him quite alot which has put a strain on him whether or not he'll admit it.
But I guess I've started to blame him for a lot of whats gone on, I've started pushing him away because I don't want him to know what the ****s going on in my head because he doesnt understand.
He doesnt understand about the self harm, he keeps saying I need better coping methods.
Like the other day I got a phonecall from the police before I was running a climbing session and it threw me off what I was meant to be doing. But I got on with it even though it threw me off. He wasnt working that day but I mentioned it when we went on a river trip yesterday.
He was just like - you need to speak to a counciller, you need to do this, you need to do the other.
If it wasnt for him i wouldnt be involved with the whole police situation and everything, Its pissing me off. I've sorted my life out before, Im pretty damn good at it, I just need a sympathetic ear sometimes.
I just want to shut him out, I want him to stop with the councilling sugesstions and everything, I don't need it. I just need some time and this police **** to be over withand then I'll be able to carry on.
I just want someone to understand and no one does. I just want my life back. I just want to be able to do what im good at without worrying.
It almost feels like he just doesnt want anything to do with me.
Anyone else had experiences like this? Or people pressurising you to do stuff you dont want to do?

its what society classes as 'normal' if you have x,y, or z - seek dr's, therapy and pills.

its not always the answer.

he's right about self harm not being the best coping method, but sometimes its the only one that works. I guess the majority of people can't understand self harm unless they've been there, and even people who have had depression don't seem to get it.

maybe take a break from leaning on him, if you feel strong enough. mand x
