Fine hair
Please move if in wrong place.... thank you Mods!!
I have fine hair and it really annoys me. I stress all the time about losing my hair/getting ball patches. I try my best to fluff it up but it looks so limp. Damn hair. What can I do? (sigh) |
i'm not the biggest expert on hair, but i'm sure it looks fine! perhaps you could put it into braids, ponytails, things like that where it won't be so noticeable. also maybe go to a salon and see if they have any ideas. i think there also might be conditioners that help your hair volumize. also i have heard that certain vitamins can help hair growth, but i don't know if that's true so maybe google it! (not that google is always right either but you get the idea, lol)

I think the above poster's got some good ideas tbf. You could try the volumising shampoos/conditioners - though I don't know how well these work, but if they don't I'd recommend going to the hairdressers and seeing what they can do with it. They'll probably be able to cut it in such a way that makes it look more volumised if you ask them.x

I have some vitamins in the house for skin, hair and nails so have started taking those.
Will post pictures of my hair straightened as well as not sometime in the picture section. thank you both I would love my hair to be better. It means a lot to me. |
I'd definately go to a salon - a good one because they know hair more than anybody. One of my friends has really fine hair and she stresses about it daily but stress isn't good for your hair so just relax, I'm sure it's fine!

my sister has really really fine hair and it took me forever to get her a good cut. but in the end, the hair dresser put tonnes of short layers in it. and she teases it a little bit (you couldnt tell it was teased) and it looks great! with heaps of volume. oh and she also used a volume shampoo but i dont think that makes all that much difference. your hair shouldnt fall out unless you're really rough with it and put chemicals and such in it every other day.
but anyway, im sure your hair looks great how it is naturally :) |
I do colour it every eight weeks but the hairdresser says it doesn't really damage your hair.
I use a village hairdresser... dunno what is classed a 'good' hairdresser. |
colouring every 8 weeks should be fine.
village hair dressers are just as good as any other hairdresser, they all go through the same training :) i dye my hair every 4 weeks and i bleech it also, so it does fall out haha :( |
crimpings good for getting volume, you can do all of your hair, or just the underneath layers so you wouldnt be able to tell its crimped.
|
Blowdry your hair upside down and blast it with hairspray while its upside down. I have fine hair as well and theres not much you can do unfortunately. I actually find an overload of hair products weigh down hair making it limp. Less is more haha!
|
I have fine hair but I have loads of it (if that makes sense?) so I don't really get the same problems, but have you tried putting a bit of mousse on it when its damp and then blow drying it upside down?
|
this is what confuses me muchly actually... hairdresser says I have a lot of hair it is just fine..
Thank you for your replies everyone. |
Extensions...? Ok I've heard alot of people trashing clip on extensions of late, but as long as you add a few (moderation is the key) it actually looks pretty good.

I don't think you should worry about bald-ness unless your hair is over processed or it runs in your family or things like that. Generally if you take good care of your hair, it's all good. |
My hair is pretty fine..though the way it's cut at the moment it looks pretty good and thick on the top and it's ment to be thin down the bottom.
I used to blowdry my hair upside down now I can't do that due to the parting placement I have to dry my hair with it in the parting otherwise it will just go back to a middle parting...the blowdrying upside down helped somewhat. I now use moose when damp and then blowdrying it which seems to help a lot. One hairdresser I had told me to avoid layers in the back cause layers make your hair look less 'thick' and thins it out somewhat..but now I have layers on the top of my head..like it's short on top and then long..which helps it look 'thicker'. Have a play about, speak to your hairdresser, look in hair magazines (or online for free) I'm sure you'll be able to find a nice style that suits you and makes your hair look 'less fine'. |
I used to have rather fine hair, but i tease and backcomb it, and have been for quite some time :L and it has made it muccchhhhh thicker :)
I also wear extensions, which thicken it up too. :D |
blow dry it like maddd then straighten it with your head upside down. then ruffle it. yes.
|
I have fine hair as well, nightmare, generally I just work with what Ive got, but a good layered doo will help, and it couldnt hurt to try volumising stuff.
Or, you could get a hair transplant on the black market, I'm thinking of stealing my girlfriends hair any day now. |
I have fine hair too and always get my hair cut every 6 weeks to make it look thicker.
|
![]() this. seriously, cheryl cole doesn't lie, it gave my hair it's 'mojo' back. the best volumising shampoo i've used. |
