Pills
So I was just wondering, are diet pills,(over the counter), actually drugs? And if so does that mean that if you're addicted to them, you're a drug addict?
Sorry, I had no idea where to actually post this. x |
Anything that affects the way your body works can be called a "drug".
I'm not sure what pills you're refaring to, but most are considered "herbal" (well in england anyways) but this does not mean they're any less dangerous as they haven't gone through the same amount of trials as conventional medicine. They may not be physically addictive but they could be psychologically. Some things like laxatives and caffeine (which are NOT diet pills but are misused/added in) can cause withdrawal from caffeine and your bowel can become dependant on laxatives and not work properly anymore. Take care, not sure if this helps? x |
Psychologically addictive, I forgot about all that. Perfect answer thank you. x

"drug" applies to many things, not just the illegal kind. the caffeine in tea and coffee, in red bull and coca cola, is a drug. alcohol is a drug. nicotines (cigerettes) is a drug. and all medicine is a drug.
unless theyre the herbal kind, theyre drugs. but you can be addicted to things other than drugs, too, so you could be addicted to the herbal pills. |
