The end of my rope...
 

I'll be 20 years old very soon, which means I've been engaging at least semi-regularly in some form of SI for half my life. I cut before I knew what cutting was. I think of myself as being a fairly intelligent person, and I feel like I should have been able to come up with a solution by now. I've stopped for long periods of time (more than a year), but my initial impulse when I am very angry or scared or embarrassed is to hurt myself as much as possible. This behavior runs contrary to everything I believe-- I hate that I do this. My mother and boyfriend are compassionate about it, but I know they don't understand, and I know it scares them. How could it not? I don't know where to turn at this point. I just want someone to talk to.

I know exactly what you mean about stopping then having something trigger the urge, you have done more than I have, my parents don't know I about my recent episodes. They think it was just a phase I fell out of, But I want you to know that I am here to talk to if you ever want to :lolface:
