i cant stop shaking and passing out

Borked 31-12-2009 04:19 AM

You should probably go see a doctor soon.

help_me_:( 31-12-2009 04:28 AM

i dont like doctors though...

Chances are the main advice you'll really get is to see a doctor. It could be due to many things, like how your diet is (whether you have an eating disorder), underlying medical conditions, if you've got a bug, if this has happened before, etc.

i dont have a bug and i am ocd about what i eat so i always eat healthy

If you're passing out and shaking you need to tell anyone you're with or get somone to come over. As well as that you need to see a doctor and it may be best to go to A&E; if you can't get a lift there (as you're not fit to drive if that applies) then ring an ambulance. Anyone collapsing for no known reason needs to get checked out as there could be something serious going on and so you NEED to get checked and like others have said, there is NO alternative to that and nothing else we can do.

How're you feeling? Have you been checked out and how did it go?

help_me_:( 02-01-2010 02:57 AM

got checked out today.. not fun.. the doctor said i had narcolepsy and some people who have it get cataplexy, which can be seizure like and are brought on by strong emotions or emotional changes etc... which realy sucks.. they gave me meds for both. i dnt want to take them though... the doctor said they can be addictive... im just worried rite now...this changes my whole life... forever :( :( :(

siffa 02-01-2010 03:42 AM

I'm on addictive anti anxieties and i've never become addicted to them. If you watch yourself and how much you take, you should be fine on those medications.

help_me_:( 02-01-2010 03:46 AM

still though how bad would it be if i didnt take them?

Cryptic. 02-01-2010 02:02 PM

If you wanna keep passing out, go ahead, don't take them. :/ You've been advised to take them, if you have a problem taking them, tell your doctor. We can't do anything about it.

Aidee 02-01-2010 02:24 PM

If you ever want to drive you need to get the condition under control. You can have your driver's license permanently revoked if you drive and have episodes and don't take your medications. This can also happen to people with seizures.

help_me_:( 02-01-2010 04:55 PM

its just hard cuz now i have to change everything based off of this stupid medicine... i dnt want to be ... idk what i want right now im just so out of it and flustered and its all making it worse....

Gone. 02-01-2010 05:04 PM

I think that you will naturally be flustered by becoming accustomed to new medication so don't fret. Just take things one step at a time and take the medication as the doctor has told you to... if you don't then there could be negative consequences.

Glad you saw a doctor though :)

help_me_:( 02-01-2010 05:09 PM

i dont want to sound like im complaining because its good to know what is wrong with me.. but i sh so everytime i do i have a chance of setting off a stupid seizure thingy.. but i dnt think i can.. its tying into everything to do with my life and making it worse.. im just afraid of what else it could effect, my friends, my liscense as you guys said is probobly getting revoked.. now i gotta get rides and everything is more stressful and i dont handle stress very well.....

Cryptic. 02-01-2010 06:22 PM

Right, let me just say, it REALLY is a good idea to take your meds. The worst that can happen if you don't could be this happens a lot and in dangerous situations; imagine driving a car and this happens or what about walking across a road? You need to try and get it under control and by this it means taking the meds and seeing if it helps. Try not to worry about the SH in terms of it as worrying about that will do the opposite to helping.

Feel free to PM me; I have Epilepsy. I 'developed' it over 2 yrs ago and have had a few bad seizures. It's took 2 different meds and me having to stop one med I was on to control it. It's not nice and could've easily meant me having to leave my career. Mine is also thought, on some levels to be brought on by stress so I've changed some of the things I have done. It's now 19 months tomorrow since I had a fit. Since my first fit I lost my driving license; you're only allowed it back in the UK for a yr fit free, though it may be different for you as in the Aus/ NZ it is only 6months so I don't know about the US. This includes Catapleptic/ Nercoleptic episodes. So though it is really hard and trust me, me seemingly suddenly developing epilepsy was scary and caused quite a few changes at first, I will more than likely be on meds for the rest of my life. It is worth it because I know the changes I have made and the meds I am on are meaning I can now drive and don't have the potential problems with my career that epilepsy (same as narcolepsy/ cataplexy) brings.
