medication qst

I know that different meds work for different people and that we are all different... but I just wanted some advice on this

....I have been on many many different AD's over the years... al of which have stopped working after some time (usually a few months)

the current AD I am on... fluoxetine... has worked wonders for me and I have been on it now for over a year. I am also on seroquel.

for the past few months my AD has stopped working and so hence my pdoc has increased the dosage (am now on 80mg)

...today I am being admitted to hospital and my meds will be changed

but apparently I have a few different options to choose from
..I could either get my AD changed completely
OR
..I could go on something like a mood stabiliser along with still being on the same AD and AP

I am thinking of leaning more towards the 2nd option cuz I really do not want to let go of the flouxetine as it has worked so well for me over the past year

how many people are on an AD, AP and mood stabiliser... and do you find that being on all 3 is better?

any advice/ opinions would be greatly appreciated

xxx

For me, being on all three has been the best. I also tried numerous meds, to no avail; till now.
I'm glad they will be monitoring you thru this switch, tho.
Good luck.

i added a mood stabilizer to my AD and AP. it works pretty well for me. If you have something that works, keep it. its good that you are going to be monitored in the hospital. good luck

I'm on an AD, an AP and had a mood stabiliser added a few months ago. I've found it hasn't made any difference, but I haven't had any side effects either. I'm on Lamotrigine.
Good luck sweetie. x
