Tiredness - meds related
 

I'm taking 20mg Haloperidol, 5mg Olanzapine and 10mg Procyclidine a day and I spend whole days feeling exhausted despite sleeping for over 10 hours a day.

I've tried caffeine, Procyclidine, cold air, exercise, everything and I'm still tired. I've left a message for my psych to call me back but she hasn't. I don't know what to do about this tiredness! It is driving me more insane and disturbing my work.

i understand because im in the same position with my medication, it doesnt matter how much sleep you get, you still feel so tired.

Im not sure what to suggest apart from talking about your meds to you phy and see if they can do anything about the side effect.

I feel exactly the same. I expect my psych would suggest reducing my meds but I really dont want to do that.

I sleep between 11 and 13 hours a night and still feel tired.

This is actually part of the reason I recently stopped taking the majority of my meds. I couldn't get any schoolwork done whatsoever. Do you have an appointment with your psych soon?

The tiredness is better today. I've started taking all my meds again (I was neglecting some of them) and its improved.

I have left a message for my psych. But I refuse to have my meds lowered because I've only just stabilised on them.

I'm sorry you're struggling so much with drowsiness, it's horrible. In my experience, missing medication makes drowsiness worse when you start taking it again, but taking it consistently seems to reduce the side-effects.

I hope your psych. gets back to you.

My psych suggested I change the timings of my meds. So I took Procyclidine at 2pm and ever since I've been wide awake and full of energy =] I did my first draft of my essay and now I'm going to study forensic science. I could easily go to the gym right now but I'm at my Dad's office.

I also drank 3 coffees lol which helps.
