Criminal records sh*t.
 

My Mum is having a CRB check to start her voluntary job as a befriender...

I just remembered my criminal records....how long do section 136s take to disappear?

I have one section 136 which says that I was violent towards two policemen and needed to be handcuffed etc...and I have another record which relates to violence as well (I'd rather not talk about what it is specifically). I have also assaulted my Mum three times, but she never pressed charges, the police just dragged me off to A&E.

I am scared that if I do end up involving myself in any job to do with looking after people etc, then they'll do the enhanced CRB and find all of this out!

The record I'd rather not talk about specifically is bad, although I didn't get arrested for it; my psych reported it to the police but didn't press charges.

I also am on the "named victim" list, where I've assaulted staff on psych wards, does anyone know what this is?

depends what age u are if uoyr under 18 and your about 16-17 it get swiped of at 19years old or can take a couple years to get swiped of they only time it wont come of your record if u got in jail for what ever you did or if its a weaopen offence only if u gt charged for it


crb check is generally done when u try for a job normally working with children isint it
because what ever foster home i get moved to my careers always have a CRB check i hav a support wrker same as a befriender they said that they had to ave CRB check to make sure they werent pedos or anythink like dat

not just for working with kids. I had one done (an 'enhanced' they call it) for when i was with victim services, because I had access to all the police files.
Then another because of my job, i was out on the airport runways, dealing with the planes, freight, etc. As well as access within the airport.
Mine (records) did not show up...because of my age.
Best to call and ask them..I'm really not sure how it all works.
I know there are places that advertise/offer 'pardons'. A friend of mine ctc'ed them because he wasn't allowed to cross the border and it was taken care of.
Not sure if instead of the 'incident' it just then show a pardon was given?

Having something on a criminal records check wouldn't be an automatic bar to working with vulnerable people, but you would have to be totally upfront about it before the check came through.

An enhanced check would include any convictions & charges I think, whether they were spent or not.

I'm not sure (but someone else may know) if a section would show up, given it's a healthcare intervention not a criminal one.

for the sections and anything to do with your mental health...if you are upfront on any appication forms and have recovered (doctors confirmation) then there shouldnt be man problems.
its the businesses decision as its not a criminal offence.

Sections dont show up with the exception of a 136 as its a police section

Thanks guys. I think I will just steer clear of jobs that involve dealing with vulnerable people or kids etc. Some of the details on my record are pretty bad, even if they are not criminal proceedings as such. Long story.

im not sure, my friend was arrested for attacking a policeman and she now cant get any jobs like that due to it, but she was arrested even though she was under section. its prob best to ring crb and ask like suggested.

i kinda knowsome of the rules one becuase i have either od or sh and police took me to A&E plus my boyfriends dad and uncle and boyfriends dads mates are all police men

As a past law student and someone who knows the ins and outs of CRB I can give you the correct answer here.

No matter what the conviction it will stay on any CRB check for 5 years until it is considered spent.

On an enhanced CRB it will never be removed as it will be disclosed in the additional information though this is at the police officers personal discretion who is reporting back to the CRB.

Like others have said though it doesn't stop you working with vunerable people it will be down to the employer whether to employ you or not.
