Free time
ok so seeing as i have so much free time because i am on ESA (new version of incapacity benifit) i have decided i am going to teach myself to do things.
first ive decided to teach myself how to draw and paint in different more detailed styles. and then im stuck i can think of anything else i wanna learn how to do. any ideas? |
Aawesome, great idea (:
I don't know of any, maybe you could search online? x |
Design an outfit and learn to sew it. Or learn Photoshop (then teach me, 'cause hell if I get it). You could practice cooking or baking, or think about doing a small amount of voluntary work each week, or see if there are any college evening courses you'd be interested in.
|
i did an online search and it came up with things like learn how to make websites and other computy stuff when i only just passed key skills IT level 2 - ok i didnt exactly go to the lessons but still lol

Learn an instrument? Or if you know one then work on your skills with it
|
I was going to say learn to play an instrument.
Have singing lessons? Play a new sport? I never knew there was a new version of incap, that's interesting. |
Since I have tons of free time as well at the moment, I've been baking. Constantly. :D It's fun and you get yummy food. I've been teaching myself new recipes.
|
Learn a new language? Learn caligraphy? become a youtube make up guru?
x. |
language learning is always useful and when you don't *have* to do it, its fun too :-)
learn to knit? start a vegetable patch? if you already play sports then study the theory/technique? |
*serendipity* - yeh since 2007 the government decided that no one is incapable of working so anyone who gets signed off after 2007 has to go to back to work interviews when they try and find jobs you can do and once that have found a couple they make you go on job seekers unless there is a good enough reason why you cant - which is good with mental health because no one knows how long it takes.
i need to learn things that take no money because i am ALWAYS broke i get money and its gone within two days lol |
Something that you can build on definatly, that you can come back to. I think any creative thing is def a good idea cause not only will you be learning a talent but you may be able to express yourself through it :)

Oh I see, they've clamped down on things then. I don't agree that everyone is capable of work tbh. Sounds pressurizing. What does ESA stand for?
/off topic. |
Learning to sew or cook are useful skills to have =]
|
Learn a language :) French is my absolute saviour I tell you!
You could learn to draw, learn to write poems, learn new words.. I sometimes when I wanna impress someone look through my dictionary and find some new words to use (i just realised how much of a life i have >.<) haha. umm, learn to cook or bake. Language is my favourite. It can be free if you learn online like through guides :) |
I think ESA is Employment Support Allowance or something.
|
Oh right thanks. :)
Quite a change. |
yeh i think its a bit silly saying everyone can work because there are some people who just cant work like if someone was paralysed i know thats extreme but i couldnt think of anything else.
im gunna built on my painting and other art skills, i was also thinking of writing things down in order and things to do with how ive ended up how i am. i would love to build on my clarinet skills but i would need a new clarinet because i broke it ... cant even remember how i think i left it on my messy floor. i just wish i could think of other things id like to learn lol |
There is a good language learning program on the BBC website which is free.
|
Paint Narnia in your wardrobe.
I am :) It's fun! ^_^ |
^^^^^^^^^^^ omg that is such a cool idea lol although i didnt really like narnia tbh
